The table d'hôtes is one of the highlights of your stay at B&B Artichaud. It gives you the opportunity to talk to and other people and discover different traditions, which is far more difficult during a stay in an hotel. And – believe it or not – weak knowledge of other languages proves never to be a barrier to good contacts.
You will also rediscover the savours of products like they used to be: here in the Tarn, one can still find great poultry, traditional vegetables and fine herbs, traditional cheeses, and a superb wine. And Liliane is a great cook: she prepares delightful dinners, based upon regional recipes, adapting it to our modern way of life, with a Mediterranean touch (olive oil instead of ducks grease...)
Every day Liliane proposes a changing menu, depending on the season, the markets and her mood. Most of the fresh products Liliane uses are bought locally, with our neighbours, at the market or harvested in our own garden: gastronomy and organic food go hand in hand. Our table d'hôtes is always a four course gourmet dinner, including a starter, a main dish, cheeses and a dessert.
Included in the price are a local aperitif, Gaillac wine, water and coffee. No worry, you don't have to drive after dinner... You will have the opportunity to taste our appealing Gaillac wine (red, white, rosé...) made from traditional types of grapes only found in the Gaillac vineyards (len de l'oeuil, mauzac, braucol...). And we love to propose you every day a choice of cheeses from the South-West, not only from the Tarn, but also from the Aveyron, the Basque Country, the Pyrénées.
Many of our guests showed interest in the Lilianes recipes, so we have made available a small selection on our French web site. Even if your French is not perfect, you might be able to understand most of it. And in any case, the pictures documenting the recipes are self-explanatory
Liliane loves cooking starters, that is obvious. Her cookery contains classical recipes Artichaut à la vinaigrette, Tarte aux courgettes, Velouté de potimarron as well as Italian inspired delights Flan de courgette, Terrine de lapin aux olives, Lasagne d'aubergine, Soupe de tomates au basilic.
You wouldn't imagine a holiday in South-West France without tasting some regional specialities Cassoulet , Magret de canard aux cèpes, or Gigot d'agneau au four; of course, we serve also lighter Mediterranean dishes as for example Risotto aux langoustines, Sauté de veau et quinoa, Poulet aux olives , or Papillote de saumon.
We continue the French tradition, cheese after the main course, before one of our marvellous desserts: Sorbet à la framboise, Clafoutis aux guignes, Mousse au chocolat, Glace à la vanille, Tarte au chocolat, Panna cotta, Tarte Tatin, Tiramisù
