Regional cuisine with a Mediterranean touch

Traditional table d'hote

Guests may have dinner with us – upon reservation only, then we use only fresh products. We are keeping up the tradition of the table d'hôtes, where guests and hosts share the same table, on the terrace if weather permitting, otherwise in the dining-room. It is a marvellous opportunity to meet the other guests, and to discover the regional cuisine of the South-West. The dishes are based upon traditional recipes from the Tarn, however with a Mediterranean touch: instead of animal fat, she uses olive oil.

Dinner consist of a starter, a main course, cheese and dessert; it includes aperitif, water and Gaillac wine. On Thursday and Friday evenings the kitchen takes a break; however, we might suggest you one of the restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Good, clean and fair food

In our B&B, slow food philosophy prevails: eating is not only a question of taking in food, but even more a way of living. We enjoy growing or buying good quality products, cook these with pleasure and savour the dishes together with guests at our table d'hote. In that way, each dinner becomes a gastronomic experience. Lilianes cookery is based on fresh local and seasonal ingredients, in principle from our garden or from organic farms in the neighbourhood: food products have to be good, clean and fair.

Are you looking for an organic holiday in South-West France? On our table you will find organic season's products, including old “forgotten” vegetables and fruits: beetroot, Jerusalem artichoke, chard, marrow, pumpkin, parsnip, quince... Also the care for biodiversity is an issue: for example, in summer we grow 8 to 10 different varieties of tomatoes. You will be pleased to rediscover these delicate tastes, no comparison possible with 'industrial” tomatoes that one buys in a supermarket. You can request a vegetarian menu, Liliane loves cooking vegetables. However, here in the Tarn we can also get nice poultry and meats, grown organically, in small farms.

The dinner is also the moment for Gaillac wine tasting: white, red or rosé wines, they are excellent, and based upon traditional types of grapes, locally grown only: braucol, loin de l'oeil, mauzac... Artichaud has been awarded the official “vignoble et découverte” label, for its outstanding table and wines.
